BOX PREP 101

1. Check the bag to be sure all the gifts are out

 2. Make sure the box is sitting in the middle of the wrapping paper

3. Sharp corners are hard to wrap, give them the 'eye toofie' rub to round them out

4. Sit on the box to be sure it is properly closed
(don't look a the full body impession I'm leaving on the box)
 4. Give Mom the kitty glare until she gets her tush over to the wrapping station
 5. Be sure the scissors and tape are close by

And that my kitties and puppies is how to prepare a box for wrapping by the ones with thumbs.
Sincerely,
Madi

Thursday Theme Song: Back Home Again

We thank Hootin Anni for sponsoring this fun meme
Today's song, is dedicated to Madi and I hope she forgives me for leaving her 2 weekends in a row!!  She has been home alone 5 nights since the middle of July (which is highly unusual).  I promised not to leave her again until October.  I hope you enjoy this John Denver classic...I (mom) am a big JD fan.

There's a storm across the valley, clouds are rollin' in
The afternoon is heavy on your shoulders

There's a truck on the four lane a mile or more away
The whinin' of his wheels just makes it colder
He is an hour away from ridin' on your prayers up in the sky
And ten days on the road are barely gone
 There's a fire softly burning,
supper is on the stove (in the skillet)
But it is the light in your eyes that makes him warm
Hey it is good to be back home again
Somtimes this old farm feels like a long-lost friend
Yes 'n' hey, it's good to be back home again.

Mr. Denver wrote four more verses to this beautiful song so rather than write them here we invite you to click on the video below to hear him sing the verses and medley he wrote.

OMC/OMD, IT IS HERE...

....is what Mom bellowed on Tuesday..
I asked her what all the commotion was about she said it is a surprise and told me to hold on to my kitty 'britches' (Southernese for panties).  She said I'll show you in a minute.
I said, fine 'whatever' (felinese for big deal)!!

Mom here: A few weeks ago, I was over visiting Casper, Jimmy, Archie and Ben four very handsome mancats at Cat's Cats.  (They also have a very gorgeous K9 sister Rio!!)  Their Mom posted about printing their blog (click on this link) Blog2Print.  I was eleated to read this because I had been looking into ways print our blog so I checked it out. It was so easy and so quick.  I completed the order on August 11.  It arrived on Tuesday August 16, 2011

TA DA here is the cover

Madi here: I was taking a good nap (note the look of disgust on my face) but that didn't stop her from asking Dad to hold it up behind me before she told me it was our My blog in print and let me see it.
I really had no clue what to expect but as you can see I was about as excited as I can get when am awakened from my morning nap. However, since we all know when Mom is happy the entire house is happy so we have a  H A P P Y H O U S E!!
Mom here: There are several choices for printing, hardback and in color or a laminated softback in black and white. You can chose the time period you want printed and pictures for the front and back cover.  I wanted to print at least my first year of blogging June 27, 2009-July 31, 2010 and 320 pages, so I decided to go with the laminated softback in black and white w/o comments.  The cost was $41.15 which I thought was very reasonable for a year's work.  After seeing Volume I, I ordered my 2nd year Volume II today.
I'm absolutely thrilled with the first volume and I say a great big
THANK YOU to CATS CATS for sharing the information.
Hugs from Madi and Mom

MONDAY MESSAGES

TALK TO THE PAW
HAPPY 13TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY TO MY
FAVORITE ONLY SIS AND HER HUBBY!!
P.S. Mom and Dad ARE HOME finally safely from visiting my
sissy over the weekend.  Mom said my sissy thoroughly enjoyed here early birthday (8/28) celebaration and boy did she like the great big surprise birthday present for a very special birthday.

They had a Scarab pendant made for her.  Mom didn't buy a necklace for it because she knew my Sis had one that was the perfect length.  The Scarab stones came from a pair of earrings that belonged to my Dad's Mom. There were 3 stones in each earring but they to only use 4 of them.
Mom said my Sis put the pendant on a chain in a nanosecond and wore it all weekend.  Mom says my sis is the best daughter ever so I guess that means she is a pretty good sis too

P.S.S.  The Blackbeard exhibit was held in Beaufort, NC, which is a very small coastal town. Saturday was a special day set aside for children to go on a Pirate treasure hunt at the Museum, and the children came in grooves. (The peeps had no clue about this special weekend). Mom said it was a very nice exhibit but absolutely overrun with excited munchkins with pirate hats and eye patches.  Hardly any room to take pictures...so there are none.
The exhibit will be there forever so maybe they can go back.
Hugs
Madi
